The Worst Crime

“Satisfied,” Her ally asked from behind her as she took in her new appearance in the mirror in her partner’s ghost world home. She ignored him and focused on the new white hair and black and white outfit complete with that stupid little logo. “Well you aren’t having second thoughts about committing the worst of all crimes are you?”

“Of course not after feeling how powerful I am now I’d gladly do it again if I could,” She declared looking back her ally the mysterious Mr. X who masqueraded as the ghost hunter she wished she knew if he was human or ghost but his suit prevented her form knowing some how. “I’m just a bit disappointed that I picked up so much of the little girl’s traits but I can fix these things eventually.” She glanced back at him. “Are you sure I can’t consume another ghost to gain even more power?”

“You could attempt it but it would destroy you,” Mr. X said from where he was sitting. “Added a third ghosts power template to your ecto-plasmic matrix would destabilize the entire thing be happy with what you have gained.”

“Oh I am and the future looks even brighter once I have that lovely ghostly wail of his,” she said just thinking of the power she’d heard whispered about in dread. “The ice powers will be something I can put to great effect as well.”

“You are a fool if you think you are assured those two powers my dear,” Mr. X said with a laugh. “My observations show the girl will never gain the ghostly wail that power is the boy’s province alone it is unique to him.” He then shrugged. “She and you both have the ghost sense so you should have the Cryokinetic powers someday but the wail will never be yours.”

“Why didn’t you tell me I’d have taken the boy instead of the girl.” She said angrily as she advanced on him. She had been counting on having that power in her future plans. She fired a beam at him but a ghost shield appeared blocking it.

“You’d have lost if you tried to consume the boy remember Spectra the strongest willed ghost wins and we both know the boy’s will is stronger than yours.” She had to admit he was probably right. “Besides you’ve gone from a weak barely level two ghost to a strong level four that would have taken you decades of stealing life energy.” He turned and looked at his screen. “You will also grow stronger over the years.”

“Level?” She asked curious how he defined the strength of ghost. She knew there were no levels in the ghost zone only the power you possessed and were willing to use. She had long known she wasn’t the strongest ghost it was why she’d turned to creating a energy draining shell in the first place.

“In my research I have identified Ten levels of ghost each level is a ten times stronger than the level above it.” He said with a shrug. “Most ghost are level ones only able to fly, disappear and become intangible around level two is when the specialized abilities kick in.” He brought up an image of Skulker. “Of course level does not correspond to how dangerous they are just their innate ghost powers this one for instance is only a weak level one ghost but thanks to his suit is far more dangerous than many level twos.”

“So that would make Pariah Dark the only level ten?” She was a bit disappointed to realize that she was still so far from the ghost king’s power level. She felt like she was unbeatable now and to learn she was so far from the top was disappointing.

“No, even with the ring of rage and the crown of fire he was only a Level 9 without them he was a level 8.” He said his voice shuddering. “The Level 10 ghost predate him and all other ghost they sleep in the deepest most ancient abysses of the ghost zone and if they ever awaken it will be the end of us all.”

“How powerful is the boy then?” She asked curious to see how the boy stacked up next to her new powers. “And how powerful was the girl did I just add her power to mine or was there any lost in our merger?”

“The girl was level three and like all merged ghost you arrive one level beyond the strongest of the two.” She looked over at the mirror again wondering if that was why so many of the girls features had come through she was stronger than her. “The boy on the other than is currently a low level four with one level five ability.” She turned to stare at him the boy was this powerful already. “How strong he will eventually become is anyone’s guess that’s why I allowed his clone to live by the way existing 24/7 as a ghost will speed up his development letting us see some of his potential.” She was furious she had thought she’d be far ahead of the boy but now she’d committed the worst crime for nothing. “Calm yourself Spectra you are far more powerful than he is while you, the boy and Plasmius are all level fours you represent different strengths within the level.” He brought up a screen. “The boy is low level four, Plasmius is mid range and you are at the very top nearly a level five now.”

“Good, to see you kept your end of the bargain then,” She said to him. “When I traded you my knowledge of ghost genetics to you in exchange for the girl ghost you promised me I’d be able to easily trounce the boy next time we fought.” She couldn’t wait till the boy had his powers back and she could take her revenge on him.

“Yes yes, I was surprised you’d be willing to risk imprisonment by the Observents for committing the worst crime of all.” He said as he began to walk toward the portal back to the real world. “Shame you’ll never get the chance to hurt the boy.” He turned and fired a blast of energy that launched out of his home.

She was furious and was about to retaliate when suddenly she was surrounded by guards. “Penelope Spectra you have committed the ultimate crime the cannibalism of another ghost.” The Observent who appeared said. She struggled to fight but she was surrounded. She realized she’d been betrayed he’d used her and then turned her in. She would make Mr. X pay for this someday, she’d make him pay.

The End.

Missing and Found
Part One of Two

She sighed as she began to head home. She wished Danny had let her know about the situation with Dani earlier instead of just him and his friend shifting her around. She could have helped them figure out something to tell their parents to keep her safe instead of him and his friends sneaking her in and out of their rooms. She still couldn’t believe the girl had up and vanished two nights ago and they had only just now told her. “Hey Jazz,” a familiar voice said and she spun to see Danny Phantom standing there.

“Danny you got your powers back this is wonderful.” She said giving him a quick hug. He pulled back and she could tell by his face she was wrong. “You’re his ghost half you escaped from the Ghost hunter?” She was still relieved but a bit uncomfortable having just hugged him.

“Yes and no,” he said sounding unsure. “I just really need to talk to someone about everything so I came to you.’ She was touched and a bit annoyed that Danny’s human half never seemed to come to her to talk about things.

“Sure let’s just sit over here,” She said leading him over to a set of steps. “I hate to ask but have you seen Dani she disappeared two nights ago and everyone is worried.” She could tell he was troubled but she had to check and see.

“I haven’t seen her but I think I know what’s going on.” He said sounding extremely tired. “I’m not actually Danny’s ghost half I’m a copy that was made when he ate what that hunter called a Ghost Seed.” She was confused but didn’t say anything as he went on. “He did the same thing to Dani and Vlad.” He looked grim. “He made us so the second ghost seed he fed them would work properly it creates a ghost that is someone’s secret desires made real.”

“So you think this ghost has kidnaped her?” She asked in fear at the thought that one was growing inside Danny right now. “We have to save her and get that seed out of Danny immediately.”

“Not kidnaped her more like taken her somewhere during the night,” he said tiredly. “He called it the Jekyll and Hyde stage it last for three nights then the ghost pops out like we did and Dani gets her powers back.” He seemed thoughtful. “He must have given Dani the seed first so next will be Vlad and then the real Danny.” She noticed that he gulped when he said real. “So hopefully Dani will show back up soon once her powers are back.” He looked away then. “Hopefully her secret desires aren’t dangerous.”

She felt slightly more relaxed because how dangerous could a twelve year old’s hidden desires be. “How did you escape?” She asked guessing he was reluctant to talk about it. “And do you have any idea why he’d implant these ghost seed things in those three?”

“Not just those three he claimed he had fed them to most of the town.” She felt a moment of panic and then forced herself to stay calm she could freak out over potentially having a ghost growing inside of her later he needed her now. “I don’t know why he did it and we probably won’t ever know because he blew himself up trying to kill Spectra after what she did to the Dani copy.” He looked absolutely crushed. She almost told him to stop but she thought he needed to say it. “She absorbed her and its my fault she tricked me and the Vlad copy into fighting the Hunter while she did it by freeing us from the tubes first.”

“Are you saying she’s dead?” She asked wondering how a ghost could die. He nodded and she felt sick. “Are you sure there isn’t anyway to reverse what Spectra did?” She didn’t care if she was a ghost copy she was still a living being sort of.

“I don’t think so even if she’s still alive and I hope not.” He said darkly. “We’ve both seen what a ghost who does what she did ends up like.” She must have looked confused because he frowned and said, “Do you remember that evil Danny from the future he did it to Vlad’s ghost half.” She couldn’t help but shudder at the memory of him. “Anyway you should get back home and tell Danny all of this.” He said standing up. “I’ll keep watch from a distance but I hope you’ll understand I don’t want to be around him.”

“I understand,”she said just imagining how hard it would be to deal with being a copy of someone. “Will you at least walk me home?” She hoped that spending more time around her would help him adjust to what had to be a terrible ordeal. He did and she noticed they were being stared at whenever they encountered people. “I guess walking with a ghost causes a bit of a scene.”

He froze then a breath of blue smoke appeared from his mouth. “There’s a ghost near by.” He floated up and looked around. “Dani is that you?” He called and emerging from an alley was a green skinned ghost girl.

“I just want a home but they are all empty.” The little girl said. “Why do you get a home and family and all I had was Vlad who used me it isn’t fair Danny I should have the nice family.” She fired a blast then that sent him across the street into a pile of trash.

“So much for a twelve year old’s secret desires not being dangerous.” He said as he got up and fired a blast back that sent her spinning. “I’ll keep her busy until sun rise and then bring her to you have a Fenton Thermos waiting.” He said as he flew forward and grabbed her carrying her skyward.

Missing and Found
Part Two of Two

“You look really tired,” She said to Sam as the other girl arrived. She glanced down at Danny and saw he’d fallen back asleep. “Let me guess Tucker kept you up half the night worried he was pregnant with a ghost baby?” She said recalling Danny’s statement about that. She saw Tucker walking up behind her so she never found out if he’d kept Sam up as well.

She’d spent most of the night worried over the copy of her brother. She wasn’t sure how to think of him because he had all her brothers memories and looked just like her brother’s ghost self. She knew he came from Danny though and that was enough to make her want to help him.

“Here they come,” Tucker said pointing up wards and she saw the ghost copy of Danny Phantom flying downward holding the sleeping form of a young girl. The green skinned ghost version of her was no where to be seen. “So the other ghost is gone right?” She could understand Tucker’s fear but wished he’d have waited.

“She took off to find her own home shortly after she separated from Dani she seemed a lot calmer after that.” He sat the young girl down. “Hopefully her powers should come back soon.” He yawned then. “I need to go find somewhere to sleep.”

“You can come to my house,” Sam said speaking up before anyone else. “We have plenty of rooms that my folks never go into so you’ll be able to rest.” She glanced over at Tucker and then down at the sleeping Danny. She knew he wouldn’t like that when he heard about it. “Well he can’t stay here if Jack or Maddie find him there’ll be big trouble.” Sam said quickly. She looked over at Tucker hoping he’d volunteer his house but before he could the ghost Danny spoke up.

“I’ll go with her at least then you know where to find me if there’s trouble.” She noticed him looking at the sleeping Danny and knew he just wanted to get away from there. He picked up Sam and took off before anyone could say anything else.

“Danny is not going to like this,” Tucker said as he sat down on the stoop. “You tell him.” She would have rolled her eyes if she didn’t think it was childish. As if acting out some teen soap drama Danny chose that moment to wake up.

“So he’s already been here,” he said looking at Dani. “Where’s Sam?” Tucker immediately began playing with his PDA and looking away. Danny turned toward her and she just knew he wasn’t going to take this well.

“She left with Ghost Danny,” she said deciding on the name at the last minute. “He’s extremely tired so she’s going to let him sleep in one of her houses empty rooms.” She wasn’t surprised to see how obviously jealous he was. Fortunately before he could storm over there on some pretext and cause a mess Dani woke up.

“I’m back,” she said excitedly and hugged Danny. “I can’t believe I’m back here.” She guessed the girl had no idea how any of this had happened. She noticed that Danny sat back down with her. “Can we get something to eat I’m about to starve.” She hoped they’d find out exactly where the girl had been soon but it could wait.

The End.

House Guest
Part One of Two

He had been living in Sam’s attic for the last five days and was surprised to find out that Sam was right her parents never came up here. He glanced back at the mirror and began to concentrate preparing to try again. “Why do you keep doing that?” Green Dani as he’d taken to calling her said. “Why would you want to appear human again it is a waste of time?”

He’d been trying to figure out how some ghost could perfectly mimic a human form. He wanted to be able to walk around outside without being either mobbed as a hero or run in terror from as a ghost and he’d already explained all that to her. “Why are you hear again?” He asked letting some of his annoyance show.

“I’m waiting for the Fenton portal to be fixed so I can go where we ghost belong the Ghost Zone.” Green Dani said sticking her tongue out at him. “Unlike you I don’t want to pretend there is any place here for us.” He ignored her and tried again he knew it should be possible he’d seen ghost assume a replica of human form before. “Your wasting your time you aren’t strong enough to do that yet.” She said cheerfully. “Plasmius says you’ll never get it.”

“You’ve been talking with Plasmius?” He hadn’t seen the copy of Vlad’s ghost since he took off after he told him everything outside the crater that used to be the ghost hunters base. She nodded and he felt compelled to warn her. “Don’t trust him he’s dangerous.”

“I already know that I’ve got all the other Dani’s memories.” Green Dani said proudly. “I just know what I want better than she does.” He heard voices then and floated up to the ceiling in case he needed to duck out of the house. “That’s just Sam, Tucker and the other Danny on their way here Danny wants to tell you to stop following them at school.”

“I haven’t been following them at school.” He said looking over at her in annoyance. She just smiled and started to fly away so he grabbed her. “I think its time they met you.” He said keeping a grip. He knew she was smart enough not to try to get away she may have Dani’s memories but she was no where near as strong as her which had surprised him at first. He thought he was just as powerful as the real Danny’s ghost half.

“I’m telling you Danny it isn’t Ghost Danny,” Sam said as they came up into the attic. “I’ve already asked and he’s not the one following us around that Dani keeps sensing. He was glad that Dani’s ghost powers had returned over the last few days.

“No I’m not,” He said lowering down. “She is everyone meet Green Dani.” He said holding her out. He watched as she said hi and Tucker freaked out. He let her go then and floated down into a sitting position. He really did not like being around the real Danny and looking at him made it clear it was mutual.

“What’s she doing here?” Sam asked once Tucker got over his freak out. “I thought you said she’d taken off to find a home of her own?” She sounded jealous and it wasn’t lost on anyone which just made the entire situation worse.

“I’ve been hanging out here some times while I’m waiting for the Fenton Portal to be fixed so I can go to the ghost zone where I belong.” She said cheerfully. “I’ll get stronger if I go there otherwise I’ll always be a minor ghost.”

“The copy of Vlad hasn’t been hanging out in my attic too has he?” Sam asked in clear panic. He wasn’t surprised to see Tucker sharing the look of horror and Danny to look furious so he quickly shook his head no. “That’s good.”

“Where is he?” Danny asked still glaring at him darkly. He shrugged and pointed toward her. “Where is he then?” He wasn’t surprised that Green Dani just laughed and took off through the ceiling before he could grab her. “Aren’t you going after her?”

“What’s the point she won’t tell us anything she doesn’t want to and if we get in a fight I might hurt her.” He could see how thrown they were by that statement. “She’s not a very powerful ghost other than some weaker versions of Dani’s abilities she’s not much stronger than the Box Ghost.” He saw Danny get it but the other two were still a bit thrown. “I don’t think the ghost seeds produce very strong ghost so the real Vlad might not be as big a worry as we thought he would be.”

“That’s encouraging.” Tucker said cheerfully. “So once Vlad’s seed ghost is gone you’ll be moving on to the ghost zone or something?” He asked and he noticed Sam looking annoyed and Danny trying not to look pleased at the prospect.

“I’ll stick around until Danny there is free of his seed ghost and has his powers back but after that I’ll find somewhere else to live.” He could see how disappointed Sam was but he wasn’t sticking around it would just be two weird.

House Guest
Part 2 of 2

She let herself into the attic after dinner looking forward to talking with her guest. He listened a lot more than the human Danny and seemed to appreciate her more. She was shocked to see the human Danny standing there. “What are you doing up here where’s Ghost Danny?” She asked in shock and he turned and smiled at her.

“I am Ghost Danny I finally got it right I can appear as a human again.” She walked up to him and touched his face it felt human. “I figured out how to do what that evil future version of me could do it tires me out but with practice I can probably manage it enough to get out of this attic some.”

“Oh that will probably help when you leave,” she said bringing up the thing she was dreading. She had gotten used to him being here and would miss him. He turned to look at her and she looked away. “Why can’t you stay you and Danny can share fighting ghost and going to school it will make things easier for both of you?”

“It wouldn’t work he doesn’t want me here and I don’t want to be here.” She was hurt by that statement and started to leave. “Wait Sam I don’t mean I don’t want to be around you I love you.” He blurted out and she froze turning back to him. “But that’s also the problem because he loves you too and I am just a copy after all.” He changed back to his ghost form rising up. “I can’t ask you out because it isn’t fair to him someday he’ll grow up and admit how he feels.” His eyes lit up then. “And it isn’t fair to me to sit there and watch it happen when it finally does.”

“What about me?” She asked getting angry. “Is it fair to me that I’m supposed to keep waiting for Danny to grow up or accept whatever decision you make about who I date?” She was really angry with him and for the first time actually wished he’d go. “Maybe I’m tired of waiting maybe if you’d ask I’d say yes.” She didn’t get to say anything else as he grabbed her and kissed it. She had to admit it was as romantic as any of those silly romance movies she pretended to hate with a fiery passion.

He then completely ruined it by pulling back, blushing and saying, “I shouldn’t have done that.” She considered slapping him but thought another kiss would bring the point home better. He was startled but gave in pretty quickly. Once they parted this time he looked at her and frowned. “Are you sure about this Danny isn’t going to take this well?”

“He’ll have to get over it,” she said calmly. “I’ve made my choice.” She ignored the small voice in the back of her head insisting that she hadn’t not really. “Now can you put the human skin back on I think I’d like to go out to a movie for a first date.”

Complications
Part Two of Three

By the time John arrived most of her family had already shown up having even her oldest son who’d come straight from the Avengers Battle site to be there. She did her best to keep her irritation from showing as he arrived. She didn’t need to pick a fight now in the middle of her very large family. “How is Jackson?” John asked.

“We don’t know Hank is running some test because he’s worried about how Jackson’s body is reacting to his mutation.” Her daughter said speaking up quickly. She was glad her daughter did because the remnants of her telepathy were picking up how much he didn’t want to be here. She was glad he’d come for their son but his distaste with mutants was not something he’d felt when they were married.

As if summoned by the statement Hank appeared looking relieved. “I have good news all signs indicate Jackson is going to be fine but it will be a rough few days for him as his mutation emerges and his body adapts to the changes.” Hank looked over at her and John. “It will be best that he stays here for the duration though to make sure there won’t be further complications since his mutation does seem to have been affected by your altered DNA Mr. Walker.”

“How has he been affected?” John asked and she sensed he was worried that Jackson wouldn’t pass for human anymore. She started to say something when Nate caught her arm. She could feel her brother’s reassuring pressure and she relaxed he was right now wasn’t the time.

“His body is increasing in density so he will most likely inherit all of your physical abilities but to a possibly even greater level in addition to the extremely powerful energy field he can generate.” She had thought it was telekinesis that threw the man who bad mouthed her but perhaps it was that energy field instead. “If you want Mr. Walker you and Rachel can go see him for a moment but after that he’ll need to get some rest.”

She was already moving and after a moment of hesitation John was walking behind her. She wanted to pick a fight but she kept her temper as they entered their son’s room. She could tell he was in pain even without her weak telepathy telling her. “Hey how are you doing?” She asked as she set down beside the bed.

“Everything hurts but Doctor McCoy says it will get better.” She saw her son turn toward his father. “Is Lt. Colsen okay?” She was glad to see her son cared if he’d hurt the other man or not even though he was a bigoted jack ass.

“He’s fine son just focus on getting better,” John said and she sensed that he was intentionally being stand offish. “We’ll have to reschedule going fishing for when your better.” She got the impression he wouldn’t be rescheduling it and she nearly lost her temper.

“We will let you rest now,” She said standing up. “Try to get some sleep and I’ll be back in a little while.” She waited until John said his goodbyes and then headed out she waved her family off once they were back in the waiting room. “We need to talk now John.” She pointed toward an empty room and he reluctantly headed inside as soon as the door was closed she turned toward him. “What’s wrong with you?” She could barely contain her fury. “Since when do you have such a problem with mutants that you’d dread being alone with your own son who you’ve known was a mutant since he was born.”

“I’m getting remarried and her family doesn’t like mutants,” He said honestly. “Given some of what I’ve seen when we take down those Magnetic Renaissance groups I can understand it.” She couldn’t believe he was letting that extremist Magneto worshiping cult affect his view of all mutants. “I hoped that Jackson would be normal like some of the other kids of mutants and folks who had the power broker process.” He said bringing up the small minority who never manifested powers despite having the x-gene when their parents had been altered in that way. “Now that he’s got powers it is probably best if I give up visitation for everyone’s sake.” Her anger caused her telepathy remnants to surge and she could see into his head. She saw how his new fiancee was already pregnant and how John wanted a fresh start with a human family how he’d only fought so hard for custody to spite her.

“I always knew there was something wrong with you but I can’t believe you’d pull this stunt.” She turned and left the room leaving him alone. She could barely contain her fury so she headed out side and let go hitting the barrier that surrounded the planet with all the force she could muster.

“I don’t think it is completely his fault,” Emma Frost said causing her to spin around to face her. “If you could have probed deeper you’d know he’s suffering side effects from an experiment to boost his powers Liberty corp’s leaders the so called Liberty council performed on him.” She was staring at her step mother in shock from that statement. “I could sense how much he didn’t want to be there and I got curious.” Emma said as her only justification. “I never approved of you marrying him and he was always a jack ass but he was never an anti mutant jack ass.”

“I’ll have to inform Steve of this maybe Shield can finally use this to shut them down.” She had never liked the group that called themselves the true patriots who had funded the creation of the US Agents and got John to come out of retirement and lead them. “Hopefully it won’t come out that you performed an illegal deep brain scan.”

“Several illegal brain scans actually,” Emma said with a dark frown. “I’m going to go poke my head into the doctors who performed the experiment to see what they did so perhaps Hank can fix it.” Emma said turning and heading back into the school. “After all Jackson doesn’t deserve to have his father reject him.” She had to admit that while they still occasionally had rough patches she didn’t doubt Emma’s commitment to their family anymore.

To be concluded.

Complications
Part Three of Three

She watched the news coverage as the members of the Liberty Council were rounded up after their illegal genetic experiments on the members of their Super Hero team had been exposed. “We got them they won’t hurt anyone else.” Steve said from where he was standing behind her. “Have you heard from Hank yet about reversing what they did?”

“There’s no way to do it the brain chemistry changes that triggered this xenophobic distrust of mutants and others who are different are most likely permanent.” She couldn’t believe her son would never get his father back. “Hank even thinks it could get worse as years go by so it’s probably for the best that he’s got his lawyer drawing up papers to give up his parental rights to Jackson.” Emma and Nate had both offered to try to fix him but the odds were against it and he’d never consent so if it failed they’d be in legal trouble.

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Steve said and she knew it was the truth for all his problems with John Walker and their history he was still sorry to see what he was becoming. “Do you need some time off?”

“Yes but I’ll be back soon.” She knew she had to spend some time helping her son deal with things and getting her own feelings about this together. “I should be back soon and call me in immediately if those rumors of activity in Latveria turn out to be true.” No one had been in or out of the country since Ultron destroyed it twelve years ago. Doom’s family had even fled the country so if the rumors that Doom had been seen near the border were true then it could be a bad sign. “Who’s going to be filling in for me while I’m gone?”

“Vance is going to take over the Academy he’s coming out of retirement after the divorce.” She was surprised to hear that Vance hadn’t been on active duty for years. She knew his relationship with Ultra woman had ended badly but she hadn’t thought he’d come out of retirement. “He should be able to handle things here.” She was sure he’d be able to. “And Sam has volunteered to come talk to James, Mustang, Chokehold and Crusher.” Steve said bringing up the still unsettled mess that was disrupting campus.

“I’m glad Sam is pretty good at handling those situations.” She couldn’t think of anything to say even though it was the truth. “I’ll be going now.” She watched him nod and she left the office heading for the transporter to take her back to Xavier’s school. She changed her mind at the last minute and selected Monster Island. She would drop in on Sam and make sure he knew the whole story plus she could talk ask him his advice on talking to her son about things.

She stepped off the pad and headed threw the halls of the castle that once belonged to the Mole Man. She found Sam standing on a balcony looking out over the terrain. She was amazed at how young he still looked since being an external he was aging slower than the rest of them. “Where’s Nate?”

“Bruce is having a bad day,” He said pointing out into the distance where seconds later there was a loud crash. “Nate is keeping him occupied until he calms down.” She still felt sorry for Bruce Banner he’d been at peace with the Hulk until Xavier had torn his mind to shreds again. “I didn’t expect to see you how’s Jackson taking things?”

“That’s why I’m here I want some advice on how to talk to him about things.” She said after a moments pause. “And I thought I should make sure you have all the details about that situation you intend to mediate.”

“I’ve got all the details, Mustang was dating Chokehold now he’s with James and Crusher is pissed thinking he was just using his sister.” Sam said with a weak smile. “I wish I had better advice but its going to be hard for Jackson to take losing his father this way.” He looked down. “We’ve both had experience with losing people but never like this still alive but getting more alien to the person we knew all the time.”

Sam had put into words the real horror of what Jackson would be going through. There wouldn’t be any last minute cure for John he was just going to keep changing and end up the type of person who couldn’t even stand to be in the same room with his son. “I need to go Sam I need to be with my son.” He nodded and she turned and left. She sensed Nate and Bruce arriving back but she didn’t want to wait so she stepped onto the transporter and was on her way to the school.

“Rachel we need to talk,” Emma said as soon as she appeared on the panel. “I know you are in a hurray to see your son but we need to talk now.” She was thrown by Emma’s words. “I want you to be prepared for what your going to have to deal with.” She was afraid then. “Your son has spent the last few hours looking up every famous geneticist on the planet and asking Hank if they could help his father.” She felt her heart breaking all over again for her son. “Hank has assured him that he and others he’s brought in will keep working but he’s still looking up names.” Emma put her hand on her shoulder. “Don’t make him stop just try to ease him into talking about how he feels when he’s ready.” She nodded and Emma let her go. She headed to find her son and hopefully help him through this.

The End.
